FAQ's

Are the hot tubs inflatable?

No! Our spas are a remarkably simple, yet durable design that has been around for 30 years. Its design is unique in that it is barrier free (no traditional stiff seats like an acrylic tub). The tubs are soft which make them incredibly comfortable.

How long does it take to setup my spa on demand?

Each location and package level is different. Our Basic packages can be set up in as little as 30 minutes but the Social and Experience take longer. Because of varying factors, we book two hour windows for your spa setup.

When i book for two days, when does my rental begin? What about a week long rental?

Our two day package encompasses a 48 hour window. If you book at 1pm on Friday, we'll pick up at 1pm on Sunday. The weeklong package works the same way. If you book at 1pm Friday, we'll pick up the following Friday at the same time. Keep in mind your rental period includes setup but not teardown.

How long do I have to wait for the water to heat after you deliver?

This is the best part of our service. Your spa will be hot and ready to use immediately after we finish setup!

Do I need a special power outlet like a normal hot tub?

Nope! One of the most unique aspects of our spas is that they plug into a standard 120V/15A three prong grounded outlet. Per our booking requirements, an outlet is required within 35 feet of your setup location.

Will my electricity bill increase while I am renting?

Not significantly. The hot tub motor uses about 4 kWh of electricity per day (assuming average air temperature of 65°F). At Seattle City Light’s highest electrical rate of 14¢ kWh, you can expect your electricity cost for a two day rental to be about $1.

Do I need to provide water?

Sometimes. One of the best features of our service is how quickly we can deliver and setup a hot tub. This includes water. That being said, depending on location and delivery schedule, we require access to an exterior water spigot within 100 feet of our delivery vehicle.

If I provide water, is it expensive?

Excluding your water utilities base rate and calculated from an off peak rate of $5.40/CCF, our 220 spa costs approximately $1.50 to fill. The 300 spa costs approximately $1.98.

Do you dispose of the water after our rental is complete?

Yes, for many reasons but mostly due to sanitization. We also require an area on or near  your property to dispose of said water.

Can I put my spa anywhere?

Water weighs a lot (our 220 spa filled is 1838 lbs. The 300 weighs 2390 lbs). Therefore, the spa must be placed on a flat, level and sturdy surface. Backyards, decks, and patios are perfect but use your imagination. As long as there is electricity and we can get hot water to the site, you’re good.

How much room do I need?

Our Basic 220/300 spa package requires a 6/6.5 ft diameter footprint respectively. The Social 220/300 requires 8/8.5 ft respectively. The Experience package requires a 10x10 ft space.

Can I put the spa on my rooftop?

As awesome as this sounds, it is very unlikely. Most roofs aren’t designed to support the weight of a full hot tub. Also, if we can’t get water to your location, it kind of defeats the purpose right?

Can I request an indoors setup?

While we certainly don't recommend an indoors setup, it can be done. Things we ask you to consider before requesting an indoors location are: Are the floors ok getting wet? Is the area properly ventilated? Will the steam from the tub damage your walls or ceiling? During our set-up/teardown process, there will be water moved to and from and around the area. Is it ok getting wet?

Do I need to treat the water?

Nope! However, we ask that when the spa isn’t being used that you place the provided floating hot tub sanitizer into the water.

What is the water treated with? Are the chemicals strong?

We initially treat your spa water with very small amounts of granular chlorine (think 2 teaspoons). After that, we use a mineral purifier which destroys bacteria in the spa and makes the water feel softer. As a result, our spas are treated with 3-5 times less chlorine than a traditional hot tub.

Can I use my own bubbles, bath bombs or epsom salts?

NO! The use of personal bubbles and salts etc. can damage the spa liner and motor. Any and all use of personal additives is prohibited.

How hot does the water get?

Maximum water temperature is 104℉.

What temperature is safe for kids?

This is not a “one size fits all” answer. At the end of the day, you are responsible for the health and well being of your children. When you permit children to use the spa under your supervision, consider reducing the spa temperature to 98℉.

How long can I safely stay in the spa?

The CPSC recommends a maximum soak time of 15 minutes.

What happens if I damage the tub?

You are responsible for any damage sustained to our equipment during your rental period.

Am I responsible for my friends or guests that use the spa during my reservation?

This is a resounding YES. The lessee of our equipment and the signatory of our liability waiver is responsible for all users and guests during the rental period. This includes any sustained injuries of your guests or users.

Can I extend my reservation?

Absolutely! As long as we have availability and receive sufficient notice before your rental agreement expires.

Do I need to sign a liability waiver?

Yes. The lessee of our spa and equipment will sign a liability waiver and rental agreement. The signatory is responsible for any damage sustained to our equipment during your rental term and releases PNW Mobile Spa LLC from any liability should an injury occur to themselves or any guest or user during their rental term.
